New commuter here - I was able to commute about four times before the scorching heat set in. When the temp is forecasted to be over 100°F I don't bother.

I commuted in 95°F and that was miserable. What's the hottest you've commuted in?

We don't have to worry too much about 'too hot' this side of the pond.

Just off to the South of France ..... where it is supposed to be about 30-34 degrees C next week. I'm planning to get up at stupid o'clock and have a 15-20 miler most mornings, and perhaps another couple of late evening rides. I'll be staying in the pool during the heat of the day. They say only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun. Not this Englishman. Not in the hills on a bike, anyway.

Here in Canada we have -40C(-40F) winters and this saturday the expected high is to be +34C (93F) so 100F is proper hot. Hottest I have experienced on a bike is 35C (95F).
Given that I would rather ride in the hot rather than the cold, but both extremes suck.

I've commuted in mid/high 30s C in Taiwan - about a 45 mins ride though Taipei. I got used to it but never lost any weight

Probably low 30s. If it's boiling I just try not to cycle... most of my cycling is commuting and not for fun, and there's only so sweaty you can reasonably turn up looking with no shower at the other end!

I've no idea as to how hot in numbers, but I've been cycling for a very long time and I've done a lot of rides in scorching temperatures. generally I won't stop cycling when its hot, but I'll increase the fluids, and if I can reduce the effort.

I keep the fluids up, wear light, loose fitting and usually light colored or white clothing, and cycle in an easy gear. Ridden in 38-39C, but usually try to find other means of transport when it gets that warm. In the Central US, it can get to 42C in the summer, but only for short periods. Early in the day riding is the best way to get around it.
