Rich. Ever the romantic.

I hope Nelson Mandela can hold on till after Friday, because with Patrick Moore and Alex Moulton passing on this week, the Last Word programme on Radio 4 sounds like it will be good one.

i'm just a little south of Oslo centre. So there is a fair amount of light pollution.
I'd have to get on the bike/in the car and travel 10km for pitch blackness.
Yeah, it's bad in Leeds too - but I've got a cellar!

Anyroadup, did different cultures group the stars in different constellations? Or just generally the same constellations with different depictions e.g. ladle/wagon/plough?

Yes!. None of the constellations look anything like the animals/objects that they are supposed to portray. Either it's a huge con or the Ancients were in a permanently pissed-up state.

Just been outside with the binoculars and got a great view of Jupiter and 3 moons. After a day of biblical rain its a lovely clear night.
