I reversed into a pedestrian as she walked behind my car.

As I was helping her to her feet and putting her shopping back into her bags, she said: "Didn't you see me?"

The temptation to say: "Yes, I knocked you over on purpose" was immense.

Im sure parking bays are getting smaller and therefore making it more difficult to park nose first. I reverse Into the space at the doctors surgery, and sometimes at the supermarket although Mr WD hates me doing it as he says its harder to put the shopping in the boot. I prefer reversing as its easier to get back out.
Go on then, just for you.

I find it easier to reverse into a parking space but often curse myself for having done it at the supermarket when I'm trying to unload a wayward trolley of stuff into the boot

I hate those f*ckers who park their bloaty fancy shite over two spaces, they should be thrown into the sea. And their cars. That isn't really anything to do with reverse parking I'm just ranting at the selfish bastards.
You've got a point though.

The only thing you can do is reverse in so your passenger door is less than a foot from their driver's door.

The last time I proved a point to an idiot parker he ran his key full-length down the side of my car, I didn't see him do it but I know who it is, what goes round etc...

A dish best served cold.

I'm lucky I've had company cars for years now.

im not so sure there getting smaller tho in some multi story car parks there bloody ridiculous..
the modern car design makes cars wider than they used to be with all the ncap saftey features.
the average space on car parks seems to be 2200mm as a rule but some drivers like to park so you have about 20mm gap to get into your car.. bless em

I'm relaxed about supermarket parking. I've had to squeeze into the last available space in a wonky way because everyone else is wonky. By the time I come back out everyone has moved and it looks like I've parked like a twat, with some less than understanding twunt parked so close that I have to get in through the passenger door. I bet they walked off feeling smug

And something else about supermarkets. Park a bloody great pickup in a disabled bay and people start making sarky comments. Can my Missus not be disabled and travel as my passenger? Same goes for the parent and child - manys the time I've had to point at the bairn in the child seat to shut up some interfering twit with eyesight problems.

I've found that my new Clio estate is much easier to park than my old Fusion, despite being a little bit bigger. I think it's a combination of better power steering and better visibility - the mirrors are deep enough to see a good way down the side of the car.
