@johnnyb47 - sounds like you've got yourself a wonderful feline friend. Here are my terrible twosome, both rescues:

Poppy, my opinionated tortie. She was an unwanted kitten. Have had her since she was three and a half months old. She'll be 8 on Sunday.

Lexi, my little pest. She came from a cat hoarder - the rescue I volunteer for took 42 cats out of one house and Lexi was the first one to come out of there. She is the hunter here, and I've had everything from snakes, rabbits and pigeons to pheasants, mice, rats and voles. And sucked butterflies...

Love my girls to the moon and back. They are the top cats in the neighbourhood - none of the neighbours' cats or the ferals dare come into the garden. They get seen off pretty quickly.

Unique colouring on Lexi. Very vivid.

Hardly unique - she's got around 300 relatives in the local area... But her coat is a lovely shade of blue. When I got her, you couldn't really tell what colour she was exactly, she was that dirty and stained. She was sort of... brownish...

She regularly competes at shows against her grandson btw.

It was a poor joke about the orange jacket. But the blue is lovely!

Our first cat we rescued from a hedge on our lane. He was heard crying for several days. When I managed to catch him his left front paw was stuck between his collar and neck. Long haired, badly emaciated and stinking breath!! We fed, washed and combed him for a few days before sending him on his way by shutting him out - that evening we let him in again and he stayed for years. I still believe he was genuinely grateful!!!

We named him Olaf and he stayed with us for many years till he simply disappeared though he was so timid he very rarely came in beyond the back porch. Once though when our Alsatian/Collie cross was sleeping off anaesthetic Olaf was found curled in to his stomach.

Two neighbours' cats have lived with us for many years. Rita, deceased, moved in from next door, we live on a terrace, - she would go home for meals, we never fed her, and/or vet bills. Ideal cat. The day following the death of her sister, Betty, she went home never to return!!! Weird.

Next door but one's beautiful kitten moved in shortly after reaching the age when she was allowed out. Her behaviour was so loving and pathetic we'd feed and look after her - a total tart. She's now left to live at home but does return if it's wet or cold and she can't get in at home. Always known as "little cat" in our house.
