I actually think the jacket looks OK. (Disclaimer: I know bugger all about fashion, something which I think is best left to ladies, camp gentlemen, French and Italians who all seem to be competent at it.) It also looks practical and ventile is a good material but it needs proofing i.e. it is not truly waterproof in itself.
The best thing about the jacket seems to me to be its potential to irritate the jealous i.e. you have to subtly let the cost slip out so people can be scandalised and whinge about it and you in much the same way they will go on about you if have an expensive bicycle, watch or camera. In other words the entertainment value of this jacket makes it look worth every penny.
BTW if the build quality is anywhere near as good as the Brooks shoulder bag (I handled one in a shop the other week) then it's probably worth having.

The jacket is not my style at all, but I would pay that amount for something that would last 20 years. In other words, I don't mind paying a lot for something of excellent quality, but don't like paying over the odds just because of the label. I have no idea whether this jacket is good enough quality to warrant the price, I suspect not.
