Batten down the hatches.

Floris is on the way.

Is storm Floris going to be bad in South Cumbria 6 to 7am tomorrow morning? I'm not sure whether to go in to site or WFH. Told a colleague I'd be going in but the wind is stronger than I thought. Not sure whether to cycle when it's getting to 40mph or higher.

It's so calm now and we've had a hot and sunny day today. It's still clear with a bit of cloud now. Doesn't look like a storm is on its way.

What wind strength would you back of cycle commuting in?

PS the way the wind blows when I'm commuting it always blows head on. I've had one trip with it sideways on and one trip when it was raining so heavily but the wind was behind me that I no knocked 5 minutes off 25 minutes best ever commute time home back then. I put it down to the following wind and the fact I gritted my teeth and head down left it all out there to get home quicker. I was shattered, wet but surprisingly fast that day going home.

T'is reckoned 85mph gusts for Scotlandland so Cumbria might cop a good blow.

Well it was wet and not very windy here. Along the coast it was strong and work told us to WFH today so not a problem for me. I didn't have a ride in the wind and rain to work and I got just as much done.

My tomato plants took a battering. I'll be out there later with the bamboo canes pinning them back up. Oh the humanity!

You cannot grow tomatoes outside in Jockland.
What's wrong with putting them in your living room or your van?
I think you should buy that Hammerited Yugo 55 convertible. Then you can put the roof up when it's a bit windy or too wet or too hot. £5 is an absolute bargain.
