Why must the term 'Great Britain' dissappear if Scotland splits off? AS you said it is a Geographical term. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland would be just that. All it would mean is the Northern portion of Great Britain is not part of the United Kingdom.

I'm sure Alec Salmond will still find reasons to scape goat Westminster for all his political failings whether they are devolved or not.

How can we call ourselves Great Britain if "we" does not include all of Great Britain.

Same as we cannot call ourselves "Great Britain and Ireland" as we used to. So we would be Southern Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Come to think of it at the Olympics why are we not "Team UK"

wrong wrong wrong .

"The United Kingdom consists of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom
Souce: The official site of the Prime Minister's Office

So there you have it. Wales is a country.

and we don't really care about the welsh national flag on the UK flag, as we are concerned with more important things.

rugby, singing and sheep ;) and not neccesarily in that order. the further south and west you go the closer Sheep gets to the top of the list ;)
Surprised it took so long. Usually someone blows their top a lot quicker than that. Although I wouldn't take anything from Wikipedia (or the the official site of the Prime Minister's Office) as gospel.

Northern Ireland, Six Counties out of the Nine Counties that make up the Province of Ulster. So a third of Ulster is in Ireland. Would that mean you could use the Provincial flag, in any new version of the Union Flag?

Or the Ulster Banner?
