There is an increasing trend to remove apostrophes from street names much to the disgust of the folk who have been de-apstrophied.

We do say Ford's when we use the words in the same manner. If, for instance, we wanted to compare small family cars, we would say that Ford's is better / worse than Renault's.

Surely we would say "Fords are better / worse than Renaults" ...

I always like St Peter's Square. I'm always tempted to write "we know he is" underneath.

I particularly like the idea that the 's' in St Pauls Square becomes redundant if you remove the apostrophe.

Not in the example I used. Which is why I did it that way.
