They were famous for making rear seat passengers travel sick.

My '99 Astra has just gone over the 100k mark. 20k of those have been put on during the two years I've owned it.
My 2010 Astra is nearing 100k. Time for a cambelt soon.

I loved my Vectra B SRI. 50mpg if you drove sensibly, performance was ok, nothing to set the world on fire, but ok.
It did suffer with a management problem occasionally something would light up on the dash, I usually ignored it, it ran fine.
My favoured MOT station, his wife had exactly the same model...same problem. She did the same, just ignored it.

My son's had two Vectra Cs...one is a SRI estate, goes like the wind for a humungous car. Mind, he's had both DMFs fail on them.

Middling cars, nothing terrible, nothing brilliant.

I got a green one as a company car, 1st August 1996, 1.7 turbo diesel, pulling out of junctions or overtaking was like playing Russian roulette, I've never had a diesel since. A lady in the sandwich shop said it has nice mirrors, it did, they were integrated with the bodywork, it's only positive IMO. Went pop when I put petrol in it.

I saw a Morris Marina yesterday. I assumed they had all disolved to iron oxide by now.

That is a dull car.
I had one circa 19....errr ....

I do believe this was my old car, seen 3 or 4 years ago on a ride, circa 20 miles from me.

I had a Cavalier (mk2?) 2 litre Sri thing that was fine in a straight line and surprisingly economical for its day ... But dull oh so dull.

Much like the Vectra I had as a hire car many moons later. That's progress.

Older ones prior to the late 1990s were pretty tough and simple to maintain although Opel hadn't got the hang of suspension design in those days and they were all horrible to drive on bumpy back roads. The various SRi, GTEs and whatever were seriously quick until you arrived at a corner.

I've had no direct experience of the more recent one but every mechanic I know says to avoid at all costs.

The Commander with the anthracite steel wheels!

My Favourite Poxhaul was My MKII Ashtray of 20 odd years ago. 1800SE motor, the last of the raw and revvy ones before Motronic came alone and made the GTE and SRi a bit dull, spec'd with the F16/5C close ratio box, stripped and caged, Compomotive MO's, Calibra Calipers... until my stupid ex Wife ran up someones arse in it.
