I had a vectra estate. Its boot was huge, it was pretty well equipped and never broke down. I liked it!

There's a Shovit HS slowly returning nature in someones garden in Newport Pagnell. See it as I occasionally drive by.

Funny enough, on an occasional detour home from work there is a house with a Mark 1 Astra SR and a Cavalier convertible in the garden. Neither of them have moved for years either.
Will have to go that way and see if the are still there. The Astra looked in a bad way last time I saw it.

A friend of a friend crashed his newer shape corsa this is what it looked like after -

I personally dont like the newer corsas but would have another corsa "B" in a hearbeat. Actually really want to get our old one fixed and back on the road as a runabout.

That Corsa looks like it has been "T-boned" by a Dawes Galaxy doing 10 mph .

Seriously though; what did he hit or what hit him? I hope there was no passenger!

I had a Cavalier 1800 CD automatic bought as a write off , rear end shunt. I repaired it in the bodyshop that I was working in in 1990 . It was a low mileage model top of the range ex demonstrator car with electric font windows, power steering and a sunshine roof. It was I think the best car that Vauxhall have ever made. It was fast, economical to run, comfortable, and had plenty of room in the back, it was a 5 door hatch. I sold it 12 years later and bought a high milage 2 year old 2.0ltr GLS Vectra 5 door hatch. Although it looked big it didn't have as much room as the Cavalier and tended to roll on corners. I quite liked it but it wasn't as good as the Cavalier and nowhere as easy to work on.

Never had a Chevette but while marveling at the working wrecks they drive in Uruguay, look at the blue one in the background...IIRC it was a Chevette

The Cavalier was head and shoulders above the competition at the time - the Sierra or the Montego.

It was about four years ago now if i remember correctly.
He was heading to the gym, doing a good 50-60mph, a car came into his lane head on at 80mph, there was nothing he could do but hit the car. His corsa got thrown quite some distance and then got hit by a jag if i remember correctly side on. Ive seen other pictures and videos of the car and the aftermath, the passenger door is actually slightly overhanging the drivers seat. There was supposed to be a passenger that morning but the guy had a last minute meeting he had to go to. A lucky escape for the would be passenger. The driver escaped with a broken leg, broken ribs and LOTS of bruising. He was hopping around on crutches at a event a week later much to everybodys surprise. When we saw the pics on Facebook, We thought for sure it was fatal. Luckily that wasnt the case.

A 205? They were the ultimate performance hatch (not including golf). 1.9 was preferred but 1.6 was great too.

Yeah, GTE had huge torque steer. Even though it was rubbish, I had a bit of a soft spot for XR3i and RS Turbo. Golf was the most refined out of all of them though.

This is sat outside the hotel at the moment. Actually it was there 2 months ago and it aas far as I can remember it doesn't look like it's moved.

309 1.9gti i needed a boot..the 205 was fab looking..
mates had the original 1.6 golfs and later 1.8's superb cars..
rs turbos mmmmm loved them too,but the saphire cossy was a sheer lust i want car..never did tho

A mate of back in the day had a 4x4 Sapphire Cossie ...

& a colleague had a 1.9 205 Gti.

I had an XR3i ...

it was carp, sheite fuel economy, 1.6 litre 105 bhp rust bucket, and it cost about £500 a year to insure back in about '97'.

Her indoors 1.0 Ecoboost Focus is more powerful, faster, more refined & comfortable, bigger etc ...

light years ahead.

I also used to own a £400 Cavalier L when I was on my arse financially, ditchwater dull, but before & after that, a 'J' plate Astra SXi & a 12 plate Astra GTC Sri which are o.k but not great cars.

A Skoda for me next I think.

My First and only ever brand new car, in 2000. It was a company car opt out. Only came across these pics a month ago whilst looking through old hard drives. 18 Months after bought it I left the company and was lumbered with it with 18 months finance to pay. So had to sell it. It drove really we and lets say the V6 had a fair bit of grunt. Limited amount made as this was a genuine Motor Sports Developments one. The spoiler used to take a hammering though as these pics show.

A mate of back in the day had a 4x4 Sapphire Cossie ...

Did you know that, Vauxhall offered a 4x4 version of the (mark 3) Cavalier for a while, based on the 2000GSi

I had a mark 2 and a mark 3 Cavalier - The mark 2 was loved, but as I was skint, it covered 85,000 miles whist I had it with zero servicing. Zero.

All it cost me was one new exhaust and one new set of tyres. Then some bas***d stole it and wrote it off.
