Whiteblock conversions are popular into the RWD cars, keep,it all Volvo. 5 and 6 pot, the latter also available in twin turbo flavour for those that are unhinged.

Picked up a V60 B3 in Denim Blue with blond interior yesterday. Very pleased with it. I thought I would might it a bit lacking in punch given predecessor was a 225bhp D5 and before that the V70R, but I don't know if its a bit of hybrid battery assist but its mid range punch is very decent.

The 3.5 litre (6 cylinder) Mazda (light-truck) engine was another transplant into LRs
Perkins 6.354 (circa 5.7 litres) was another used in ('Series 1') Rangies, but damned heavy & some models were very low-revving, so not really viable for a road-vehicle
