Shifter surround collected from the hydro-dippers. A 98% match for the original, which makes unobtainium look dirt common.

Don't you get a ticket for parking in that particular layby?
Supposedly

Not sure I’ve spotted this thread before…..although it is possible, & perhaps I am repeating myself: blame age!

Only had my XC60 D4 FWD since it was new, back in 2014 😜

A mighty fine workhorse 🙏
Off to London in an hour, then on to the IOW tomorrow.
Now around 110k miles: that dropped when I gave up work (& also when our other car is electric, which much cheaper running costs): around 5k pa nowadays.
The Volvo has done multiple trips to the tip, Les Arcs, last year France to Spain & back via Santander ferry, moving “the kids” (28th birthday today for one, hence trip to London to see them both!) around Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, London….what a workhorse 💪
Reminds me…I must put the winter wheels on before this years trip to the Alps in March 🫣

I own a 2014 Volvo XC60 T6 R series. I have a bike rack on top of the roof. Believe it or not I just bought it about 4 months ago, not sure what to think of it yet, I was going to buy a Toyota/Lexus or a Honda/Acura but I saw this a great sale price from a very reputable dealer in town, checked the internet and is said from several different sources that my particular Volvo had high reliability, so I took a deep breath and bought my first Volvo. Some things do bother me about it though, there is a higher cost to maintain, and repair if that should happen, which I knew when I went into it, but if it gets too stupid, I'll sell it. But it looks brand new and rides nice, and it has very good acceleration, and it gets 30 mpg which is way over the 24 it was reported as getting.

Sounds good!
I use a tow bar rack for my bike: tilts and drops to open the boot with bikes on 👍
I’m too old to be getting things on the roof, plus there is every chance I’d forget it was there when going under a car park barrier 🤣

We are considering whether to (shhhh) change my car.
Owned from new, about 115k miles, it has been marvellous, but did need an expensive fuel pipe fix before Christmas that go us thinking. Before this one, I rarely owned a car beyond 3 years: just wondering whether now is the time to look ahead.
No idea what I’d replace it with, mind. Lexus? Merc?
A newer XC60 might be the default choice…..but which engine?
B5 or T8 Hybrid?
Which would manage the next 10 years without throwing expensive bills.
Which would go 600+ miles on a tank?
I do like the idea of massaging seats, mind 🤪

Or to we keep driving it to the grave. Easier decision is always to do nothing, of course 🫣

Mrs D had a T8.

440BHP (it had the Polestar upgrade) with 110mpg+ if one was diligent about plugging it in was a pretty nice combination.

In either case, avoid pre 2019 examples.

The chin on the C70's front bumper is a bit scuffed, the only blemish on the car. Not really noticeable but I know its there so have toway been rubbing down and filling, and rubbing down again...
