So , i`ve been caught in a few heavy downpoors and winds that have made me fight to go in a straight line. The forecast for the next few days is gale force winds and heavy rain , how many of you will "brave the storms" regardless and how many will succumb to the car ?

Succumb to the car, yes. Not one for braving storms on a bike, thanks!

Weather doesn't look too bad at http://www.windfinder.com/forecast/west_kirby_basin
Planning to get out tomorrow after the cold front goes through about 1pm. Might get wet but at least the wind should drop to reasonable speeds and there's often a complete lull in wind for about an hour as the front passes, and before the rain starts. Head out south-west to start and I should have the wind behind me on the way back - in theory:unsure:

Have a car but will more than likely use the bike.Rain doesnt bother me,Wind is a pain but if its really gale force i may just back out on safety grounds

If I'm just out for a ride, I would tend to hang on a bit and see if the weather improves. As for commuting I will just get out and do it. The only thing that generally bothers me are high winds, especially those sudden gusts that hit you side on.

I went out monday and had to abandon it half way as i was getting pushed sideways, it felt like i was riding on an oil slick, my knuckles were practically coming through the skin it was that bad, i was shatting myself and didn't fancy getting my head crushed by the unsuspecting cars.

Given that you're in Malaga, and the forecast for there :sun: is perhaps slightly better than for us poor buggers :rain: would you mind awfully sodding off

If you had the opportunity to ride through what my OH rode through on Saturday, you might be saying something slightly different. The river running down the road that she was riding up was over the bottom bracket of her bike.

I wont be on the bike or in the car .. we're stuck in the village

The weather forecast for my location tomorrow is more torrential rain (on top of the multiple feet of flooding we've had on some of the roads already today) but this time with 30mph winds to spice things up a bit.

I'll still be on the bike.
