nowt wrong with my Churchill's. Quality is never out of fashion ;)
Hasn't Churchill been dead for 50 years? You got his Top Hat too?

Good choice. Their top range, full leather linings and generally extra niceness is perhaps the best value on the market at maybe £200 these days. Sadly they've stopped making my favourite brogues now, so I've been forced into Crockett and Jones - which are admittedly even nicer, but a lot more money. Still would have preferred the old Loake Lydneys.

The problem with both Loakes and John Lobb is that they don't do wide enough fittings for me. I need an H fitting (5/6E in US fitting terms) - and even then they may not be wide enough.

I'm lucky to have found a pair of Barker's that fit - but that was a struggle. I have thought about bespoke but I object to the prices that they charge.

Trickers are good for the wide fittings; as are Hoggs, who though the latter no longer make their own, do (re-) sell some rather good Northampton made wide country shoes under their own brand.

All of us, or anyone in particular?

I appear to have suffered no annoyances today, however I am going to hang a new door when I get home, so that may change.
No not everybody, just seems that everything I say lately is wrong, I can do no right. Gives me no incentive to participate

The best shoes I ever had were Trickers. They must have lasted me (lasted me, ha ha) around 20 years before they died of old age. The place I got them doesn't do them any more, sadly.

I found a local cobbler who does proper shoe repairs and used to take the Trickers there about every 3 years to be re-soled. While I was in there once a chavvy local overheard my bill of £30. "Thirty effin' quid?" he said. "I can get brand new trainers for less than that!" I explained that I had the comfiest shoes ever, for a total cost of about £10 per year. I reckon that was a bargain.

I had the 28 to 31 thing on Easter Sunday. Stuck at 50mph on a perfectly clear road with barely another car in sight. Pointless.

They have just turned the M6 near Manchester Airport in to a car park for the next two years as well.

You don't mean the M6 do you? It doesn't go near Manchester airport. Do you mean the M56?
