Mid table obscurity seems to have been the fate of the club since its last major trophy win in 1969. I've never understood the fanaticism for such an average team.

We only win in black and white. As to the fanatacism the toon are by no means unique; if you live in, or come from, a region that has been comprehensively screwed over by life then the success of your local club, however meagre, means a lot.

I'm still in mourning over the demise of Tudor crisps especially the kipper flavoured ones. Walkers have a lot to answer for.
