We passed two fishermen about 10 yards apart yesterday - didn't look like they were together as such - while we were out walking. One had a radio on really loud. Now if I was that other fisherman, out for a quiet day's fishing and reflective thinking, I'd have been pretty narked that the other guy couldn't at least have worn headphones!

But if you wear headphones then you can't hear the fish coming ;)

Love fishing, and what Lee said above is spot on.
Unfortunately my fishing days have suffered due to cycling taking over..

It's like being back on ukriversguidebook, there's some proper anti-fishing stuff goes on there.

Can't see the harm in it myself, keeps them out of the bookies.

Stella seems to be the drink of choice for the discerning Black country angler.

I have to confess that I was probably the world's worst angler - I used to travel hundreds of miles to various waters, lug all my gear to the best spot(usually 2 or 3 miles from the car park),get out the expensive rods and exotic baits and still catch nothing.

Loved every minute of it.

Seems a bit cruel now to me so don't go anymore.

There are people I pass on my commute who will spend the whole day sitting on the towpath of a miserable inner city canal waiting to catch a fish no bigger than the palm of their hand.

I don't get it.

Neither did I until I got married and had kids.
