I retired when I was 64.............I'm 68 now. Previously I had heard people saying "I don't know how I had time to work"...........I now understand that expression .
I suppose everyone reacts differently but I chilled way too much and it took me 12 months to get "real".
I have plenty of hobbies and I think that is key to enjoying retirement............don't vegetate.
Enjoy

Yes I recon I'll have to go through a period of adjustment, at the moment theres not enough time in a day and to go to having all the time in the world is going to take a bit of getting used to. As long as I don't end up doing what a friend did, he retired couldn't cope with it and went back to work.

Believe me, dave r, next year is going to be the longest year of your life!
The thought of working to 65 didn't appeal to me. I retired last year aged 60 and am enjoying every minute. :okay:
ps. The 'I don't know how I found time to go to work' bo****ks is something that retired folk say to workers just to wind them up. If they didn't lie in every day, they would have plenty of time for everything.
I got out of bed at 10.30 this morning BTW.;)
