First of all yes I am sad enough to watch day time TV.

Part of the show today shared a couple of stories of cyclists who had their bikes stolen pretty good to watch , One guy had his lock cut, he then tracked his bike via the internet, the other story was a mugging.

The mugging part is my only worry/not really worried , I cycle at the same time everyday very early in the morning wouldn't take much to have me off my bike.

There's two commute in the early hours, same route and more or less the same time.
Chances of getting mugged for your bike is lower than being hit on purpose.

Anyone wants my bike better be prepared to work for it. Fortunately, I like a quiet life and one advantage of being rather imposing in stature is that the light fingered will usually go find an easier target.
