You should hear them from the inside.
Hot, noisy, oil dripping everywhere.

Good fun though.

Yes, I noticed one on the way home last night.

First time I saw/heard one, it got me a bit worried. These are troop carriers, not regular helicopters, so thought that our part of Birmingham was about to be invaded.

Apparently they use them when they have a couple of stretcher cases or more to bring in. So again, not really good to think about why they are there.

I remember leaving Northern Ireland in one of those, I was hung over to fook and the pilot was doing the fly down the valleys thing and taking sharp turns. Lucky I did'nt spew over everyone.

I was riding home while it was circling Selly Oak last night too, so stopped & watched as I don't recall seeing one before. Presumed it had been/was on the way to the hospital

Normally they land on the playing fields at Metchley Lane but maybe now the selly oak social club has shut down they can now land on this field.

Vomit wagons. Sit in the middle between and the vibration caused by the rotors is not good for the tummy.......done many trips on wokkers in the past and everytime without fail, barff. Got so bad that the Loadies used to hand me a bag and a bucket as I climbed aboard. Smug gits all of them

They have a distinct sound don't they, we occasionally get them coming over this way. 2 or 3 days ago I was out and a WWII Liberator bomber flew over really low!(I wish I'd got a photo but I was too busy gawping) Not what I was expecting at all. They are pretty big, seen a few old planes out and about, I think they must be heading to Duxford.

Yesterday, on the old kent road...distinguished looking chap in hi viz and tan shorts...had two large transparent pudding bowls strapped to his handle bars to keep his hands warm.

Genius:biggrin:

From the front, his bike looked "wide awake!"

That reminds me of a few days ago.
I was locking up my bike outside a supermarket and there was another cyclist just leaving with a 5 litre saucepan strapped to his back.

Another thing that made me smile recently was a Pimlico Plumbers van with the number plate LAV 1.
