Oh that's another thing that confuses me...

Why is it only in 70's porn movies, that you get a plumber to come on time and see less of his ass too ?
And why is it always plumbers, are electricians and plasterers missing out?

If two objects are traveling towards each other at half the speed of light and light is travelling away from the first object at the speed of light, why is that light not arriving at the second object at one and a half times the speed of light?

I know that but it still confuses me because I can’t visualise it.

Whilst in one sense you just have to accept it because of the evidence, but it does naturally follow from the assumption that the laws of physics are the same for all observers (in "inertial" ie freely falling frames at any rate). The only way you can get any sensible results in electromagnetism is to accept the constancy of the speed of light. Einstein's leap was to give up the Newtonian view in order to make Maxwell's equations work. In a sense it's easier to accept one counter intuitive thing rather than have the rest of physics collapse in a heap

Others like Lorentz were nearly there already, and Maxwell himself maybe had it within reach -he was certainly clever enough but I guess his own predictions were not sufficiently established for him to make the next step.

Why do pedestrians not have to dismount from their feet and crawl across?
They just have to remove their shoes.

How do horses crap while they're walking?
Tricky, I'd think, and confusing..
Some spaniels do that as well. One living near me does and my nearest neighbour complains bitterly after it has crapped on his grass as he has to follow a trail to pick it up.
Incidentally regarding bridge heights as I mentioned earlier Corran Bridge is indeed marked in metric and imperial but the ferries only give clearance height in metres. No ft or inches.

Thanks for clearing that up.
