I've just phone BT technical help.

On the first occasion I got cut off after an advisor had spoken to me for about 10 seconds.

On the second I got through but nobody spoke to me. I could just hear music and people talking in the background.

On the third there was just silence when the phone was 'answered'.

Sounds like Virgin.
I phoned 'tother day.... went through all the press No x then press No y for a while until I, theoretically, got to the No were the normal crap recording assured me all the team were busy so please be patient. I was patient for 40 minutes before it went dead.
Tried again this yesterday and after 15 minutes go through to a real human.
Engineer is promised for Saurday AM.
