A car service book diligently stamped over several years by a well know tyre shop. I even told the salesman it didn't exactly inspire confidence, and in fairness he did chuckle

I still bought it and after a good service from a proper garage it's running well. Drives much better now it's got some tyres made by someone I've heard of, though in fairness to the original-off brand one it did seem OK

I has a lively discussion redently over the Nang Tang tyres a fellow owner had fitted to his van. He was quite defensive, theyre poper boots, Nang Tang have come a long way, etc.

A few days later he uneersteered off a roundabout in the rain and flattened some signage on a traffic island.

I've not ween him in a few weeks, but itll be interesting if the budget bakelite has gone in favour of some proper rubber.

If that was Kwik-Fit, they are actually pretty good at servicing and other fairly routine jobs. THey haven't been a mainly tyre place for many years now.

Diesel run cars! I've only had two out of must be 20 to 30 cars in my 48 years of driving. Both gave me serious worries overnight in winter when I worried if the things would fire up in the morning.🙄

In the UK that just isn't an issue. I've had diesels for the last 25 years or so until a few weeks ago when I replaced my last one with an EV.

They started OK even in the coldest winters we had in the Brecon Beacons. The coldest it was ever showing when I started it was -19C, which is a temperature you won't see in decades in a UK city.

Poor quality Welding (And this my game for employment)

Most 'disturbing' examples i've seen with my own eyes were:

On the main support structure; standing in the Crown at the very top of the Statue of Liberty.
On the Hull - down in the depths of the USS Midway - and while well below Water level.
And while on a Roller Coaster at Universal Studios

Ignorance would be Bliss.....

Many years ago I went on the roller coaster in Felixstowe, which is long gone. As the car was going up a ramp I noticed that the metal rail which the wheels ran on had lifted. As a teenager I guessed they knew about it. Needless to say that I did`nt go on again. No doubt it was safe as it contInued for many years afterwards but confidence ? No.

I've just phone BT technical help.

On the first occasion I got cut off after an advisor had spoken to me for about 10 seconds.

On the second I got through but nobody spoke to me. I could just hear music and people talking in the background.

On the third there was just silence when the phone was 'answered'.

Atleast their stats look good: they picked up the phone.
