I forgot about otters!!!!!!!

They win.

Saying good morning to Wes.
He's a 17 year old with learning disabilities who comes to us one day a week for work experience. He's always so surprised that we are all pleased to see him - it's just great seeing his face light up.

I love this accidental picture - always brings a smile to my face. Innocent beauty.

As an edit to this, I have just re-read Vernon's pyroposts (see 'Post of the Year' above) - now, they bring tears of laughter to my eyes. I'm still smiling while writing. My day has changed!

Reading aperitif's posting...

I'd have been disproportionately happy with one posting in the list - having two postings....;)

I'm having to have a medicinal whisky to calm down.

Watching my 8 year old son playing piano in local Christmas concerts.

Handing out tickets to drivers I catch on their mobiles...... Priceless. Well actually £60 but you can pay that with mastercard!

Locking up some scrote who is wanted on Warrant (No Bail) on Christmas Eve knowing he can't get out until the 27th and ruin anybody else's Christmas

Coming home from work, and my daughter Roisin shrieks with glee, "DADDY" and toddles over to me.

The way she does the actions for the song, "The wheels on the bus....."

Watching my dog Keira 'lose it' big style in the deep snow last night. She went bonkers.

The steady dawning realisation that you can ride 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50+ miles a day - no worries.

The first lift up a mountain in a morning, and you get the whole 12km ski run to yourself.

Learning a new phrase in a foreign language, and then trying it out.

So many things...

Spending time with people with whom you have a fundamental and enduring connection, especially when you've not seen them for a while. Makes you feel lovely and grounded

Riding through the lanes at 6.30 am on a July morning which promises to turn into a scorching day

Being utterly in the moment when cycle touring.

Chilling out to Richie Hawtin's 'DE9: Transitions' in surround sound

The smell of fresh cut grass in the spring

The first sight of the highlands when you're driving up the A9 or going on the train.

Being on the isle of mull

The sound of church bells ringing up from the valley when you're on a mountain top

Cooking a fantastic meal for friends with my husband

Seeing my favourite band play live (Lau). I've seen them so many times they start to recognise me at the gigs!

The Peatbog Faeries float my boat. I've even contemplated going up to Inverness to see them play before a rare dose of sanity took effect.
