I have a few:

Getting in a hot bath when I`m frozen to the bone marrow

Laying in a warm bed when it`s p*ssing down with rain, also getting in to bed when the sheets are all just out of the wash

Having the last word in an argument

Downing a cup of tea in one when it`s only just warm

Pay day

4.30 every week day afternoon

and finally

I have an addiction to mars bars...sheer bliss!!!!!!

Completing the circuit of Kilnhurst - Upper Haugh - Brampton - Elsecar - Wentworth - Hoober Stand - Upper Haugh - Kilnhurst two weeks ago.

Not much distance. But then 11 months ago I thought I'd never be able to walk fast again, never mind ride a road bike round what was my evening training loop.

The sound of raindrops on the roof of a tent* when you are tucked up nice and warm

(* Condition: Tomorrow it will one of those hot mornings where the mist rises off the ground, and the the view will be amazing mountains right up to the sky)

The unrelenting force (and beauty) of nature, best witnessed on a walk or cycle, it is humbling to know that even the tragedy, that is our concrete and asphalt nightmare, cannot impede such greatness.

To be honest, I struggle sometimes to even remember what "cheerful" is - but reading these (and looking/listening to the links) definitely helps! So...cheers, folks!

You can never tell exactly how roast spuddies are going to turn out on any given occasion, so it's always a pleasure when it comes to serving time and they start skidding and rattling round the pan, which is the point where you know they're all going to be lovely and crunchy and not leathery at all.
