It is edible, the problem is that a rhubarb crumble that tastes nice needs a lot more work than people think. Firstly you need to add enough sugar, after that you enhance it with something like orange or ginger or alternatively you have a rhubarb and X crumble with other fruits like apple and blackberrys.

Ruhbarb & a bit of sugar in the bottom. Crumble made of butter, sugar, flour (proportion 1:1:2 ish) in the top bit and whack it in the cooker till done.
