It was the weight that was the problem - they could manage that witha few adjystments

but the "aroma" contains chemicals that would erode the airframes alloys over the long flight to the Falklands

They were actually designed to be able to cope witha flight to Moscow under suc conditions but it wold be a one-way mission and the crew would have to crash land in the Arctic Circle - probably North West Siberia
but their survival would be easier than expect as - even after dropping their payload - the remaining aroma would melt the snow for 300 yards in all directions

Naturally the crew would be provided with protective eqipment

I should note that I had had a glass of wine when I wrote that missive
so it may make less sense than normal

In the 1960s the US Army established Camp Century in Greenland, an experiment to use decaying Y fronts to power an arctic base.

Sadly the camp was abandoned early when the Y front powered reactor melted through the ice, leaving the Canadians with a 3 billion dollar cleanup bill for Andrex and dog poo bags.

In the early months of WW2, the song "We're going to hang out the washing on the Siegfried Line" was in reference to the biological warfare plan to hang out thousands of pairs of well seasoned Draws, Cellular, Y-front, that were handed in by all ranks of the British Expeditionary Force in France, however, the Germans were too quick, and crossed the Siegfried Line first, so the B.E.F used the crusty collection as the last line of defence at the beaches of Dunkirk, leaving Hitler fuming at the multi million Reichsmark clean up bill, & several thousand soldiers in hospital being treated for a multitude of revolting diseases

Yes - it was that which stopped their advance
their tanks frontal armour could stand artillery fire
but melted in contact with a pair of Y-front from a "proper British Squadie"

Gas masks were originally made out of y fronts. In the event of an attack, soldiers would whip off their underwear, and cover their faces. This is how the rumour that Scots wear nothing under their kilts came about. It was also discovered that if you stick pipes in the opening of y fronts, and squeeze, you get an awful wailing sound. Thus bag pipes were invented at the same time.

Box white ones up and send to the French army for emergency use in the case of war.

Not Dragos ones obviously...theyre nowhere near white enough. Any poor sap using those to surrender with doesnt stand a chance...

Yorkshire puddings cooked in a baking try lined with used Y fronts appear wonderfully brown and taste especially savoury.

Indeed, the process cleans the Y fronts of stubborn clag and leaves them clean and refreshed, while the heat kills any stubborn germs.

And thus the canny Yorkshire man keeps two pairs of Y fronts to rotate, with one being worn and one in the oven at any given moment.

In South Africa, the men of the British Army left their crusty Y-Fronts hanging in bushes & trees, just as dog poo bags are today, if a strong wind caught them, the dried on clinkers would fall off, where Boer's would pick the clinkers up, and discovered they made a tasty bush snack that they called "Biltong" which is still available at all good retailers

The Maginot Line was deemed impregnable due to the outward facing wall being clad with heavily soiled Y fronts.

Alas, the design backfired. When the mighty army of the Boche approached they panicked and fled, splitting the force in two and running in terror round each end. By the time they had calmed down and then air become clean enough to breathe without inducing retching they were well into France.
