Things to do in UK in early August?

Asking for daughter-in-law. Coming from Holland to Cornwall for a week but wants to do someting else as well. Any festivals, outdoor events, exhibitions?

it's the summer holidays so i would expect there's loads to choose from. Eden project should be on the to-do list... and if she likes history, all the old copper and tin mines, Tintagel, the Neolithic gubbins on the moors. with only a week, she'll be spoilt for choice.

Boardmasters music festival at Newquay is on early August if that's to their taste

I'd recommend coasteering on the south coast. It's great fun in itself but you also get great views both when at sea and generally when walking down to the launch area. We did it from the Lizard, fantastic views and a nice little village.
