I have had a similar conversation with TLD regarding this. The school she attends is secular, but they pray in assembly. I have told her that she can either a) pretend she is praying or b) not pray and explain to the teacher that she really doesn't have to as she doesn't follow the belief system they do.

I suspect a) may be used more than b)

As for following the thread title, in a similar vein "School, if you are secular, why do you seem to push Christianity with lip service only paid to other religions?"

The first time I met you, I suspected you weren't the kind of person I'd choose to mix with, but as you're becoming part of the family, sometimes you have to put that first impression to one side and hope you're not as brassy and demanding as I think you may be.

Well sadly, time has confirmed my first instincts...youre brassy, demanding, needy, manipulative....the list goes on.
You dont walk into a family and demand respect and complain like a needy overbearing pillock because you cant get your own way..you just dont realise, the harder you try, the more you alienate everyone around you.
