Hi All
I am new to the forum and bought my long awaited upgraded new bike today, I ride a Merida Ride 77 ( don't laugh it was my first venture from MTB to Road) the bike has been really good for the money and with a new wheel and tyre upgrade has served me well.
So today I went to a local'ish Merida dealer and bought (put the deposit down) on a new Carbon Ride 95, all the spec I wanted etc.
Now get home and realised it was the Scultura 905 I wanted/should have bought, I cycle for fun, fitness and was hoping to do a few Sportives.
Sorry if the above is long winded but would appreciate comments on have I bought the wrong model, do you think the bike shop will change my order?
Sorry it's a long first post, but just sitting here thinking what an idiot I have been!!!

Call them and ask. Presumably, being Saturday, they may not have placed the order with the supplier

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Assuming the OP sat on the bike ?
Unless you can compare the feel of both bikes it seems a bit pointless worrying about it and if you want to be a bit longer lower which racier bikes tend to be you could always drop the stem a spacer or two or a bit longer stem .
Looking at the OPs wish list for cyclign the original bike he picked sounds more like the bike he needs anyway ?

Hi All

Thanks for the comments, helped a lot, rang dealer and had a chat.

As 'cyberknight' stated the Ride 95 is the model for my riding wants according to the shop owner, he would of changed my order no hesitation and given me the same deal, however as we chatted about my age.. getting on at 48 and wish list for what the bike and me can do, he believes I will not be sorry with the Ride95.

The 95 he said will be more of a comfier ride over longer distances "Sportives" and I would not notice or feel any lack of performance/speed etc on shorter rides?
The 95 is also a higher spec in his words?

Now one more question for you knowledgeable fellows, is do I change the 25 tyres on the bike for my 23 Continental GP 4000s II or not?

Cool. Chuffed you got it sorted. Nothing worse than that nagging feeling of uncertainty when it should be a nagging feeling of impatience instead.

Depends what tyres are coming on the bike tbh. I went from standard tyres on my Giant Defy 1 to 25 Continental GP 4000S (the version before yours) and found them far better. The 25's will be more comfy and supposedly faster than a 23 on a like for like tyre, so the "people who know" say, but for us everyday folk I dont think we would notice. It will be totally down to the tyre model in this case.

Thanks for the reply, yes can't wait to pick it up on Friday, hopefully it will be all I wish for!
Have decided to leave the tyres till after I have run it in for a bit, then change them to 25 Continental GP 4000s II, then watch the KOM's fall around my place
Now the next dilemma is do I sell the Ride77 and use the new bike all year round?
