So things move on, had a call today from the LBS and my order is out of stock, something to do with the importer not updating their system since June!!!
Now no bike and not sure what to do? Can have refund of deposit, that's not a problem, was all worked up looking forward to picking it up Friday and getting out Saturday & Sunday mornings

Still part of the team !
That's frustrating longy.
Since your LBS seem very helpful, why not speak to them and ask if there are others models/makes that they stock that would fit your needs ?

Sorry to hear about the stock issues, for what it's worth I have the Scultura 905 and love it. Not far behind you at 40 and find it comfortable (although have just shortened the stem slightly).

How do you find the Scultura 905? I was looking at this model, but opted for the Ride95 on comfort and a little higher spec.
I am looking at doing longer rides 40-50km a couple of times a week and a few Sportives.

I have a Ride 93 carbon, love it to bits, I would t say its a soft ride, and if the. 905 is firmer again then I wouldn't want it. I am 28yrs old also, I have taken all the spacers out of my stem and lower the bars level. Still feel great, and keep me out of the wind for some extra speed!

I find it very comfortable (apart from the seat but that's subjective and I'm looking at changing), i too looked at the Ride 95 but was put off by the reviews of it having a head tube that was too high. I suffer from back issues but didn't want to be so upright it negated the benefit of drops. If you look at the pictures of them you will see that the Scultura still has quite a long head tube and is certainly not racy (like the Reacto i see you have mentioned.

It's my first carbon road bike so I don't have much to compare it to. However I find it very smooth and responsive and am extremely happy with it. The current model is tested in Cycling Plus this month (August issue) and comes out very well. In fact they do mention that it has a relatively tall head tube!

If you want to see some pictures of mine and the upgrades I have made check this thread http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/my-new-carbon-merida-scultura-905.149176/
