The local weather forecast (BBC) said that the fog would lift from about noon until 4 yesterday and today. Yippee, I thought, I'll go for a ride. It's not lifted yet! Bored bored bored. There is only so much walking that I can go and do with an 18 year old dog.
I have great lights and can see with them, I'm just worried about the idiot car drivers who don't look where they are driving at the best of times.

Well I have spent most of the day hammering the KLM website and phone lines trying to rebook my flight that was cancelled early this morning. Right now I am supposed to be presenting to a group of people in the Netherlands. Fingers crossed I can get the first flight out tomorrow. On a plus note, although my ride yesterday started off foggy at 7.30am, by 9am it had begun to lift and nobody hit me.

Train from Warwick to Harwich. Overnight ferry from Harwich to Hoek van Holland. Train from Hoek to just about anywhere in the Netherlands (via Rotterdam). Sorted!

Warwick to Harwich is only about 4 hours. Plenty of time to make the overnight sailing. Plus you can take a bike.... win-win! :okay:

thats a horrible route from warwick to harwich .

I was very close to getting the train to Dover to meet up with another colleague who is getting the Dover-Calais ferry and driving over, I did not trust KLM not to cancel my return flight though so have stuck in the system. I am now booked on the 6am flight, but I suspect i could be spending a lot of time in the lounge tomorrow as i am sure fog will return either here or in Amsterdam.

It was nice and sunny here in Walsall yesterday morning/early afternoon, it felt quite warm for the time of year but later about 3pm we went up to Derby as we had planned to go to a firework display with family who live up that way and as we went passed Burton we noticed it was going foggy but by the time we got to Derby it was quite bad. Attached is a photo of us going round the Toyota island, below is the dual carriageway that you can't see due to the fog.
Thanks , thats where im headed for night shift , confirms my thoughts .
