I'm a newbie not to just this site but also to cycling again having bought my Scott Contessa just a few weeks ago. Anyway, it's been gorgeous weather here in France so been thoroughly enjoying myself out and about and reading through this site. Read a post about taking a mobile phone with you which I hadn't thought of, so took one last time out and ended up using it after a couple of hours coming out from a large forest,my OH thought I was phoning to say put the kettle on and not to say "I'm lost, have a look on the PC to see where I am." He thought it was very funny. Now looking to buy a water bottle holder and a map.

If you have a smart phone, the GPS is useful at this point. I use mine for the Sports Tracker. Others have similar software.

I am also going to give this a even after cycling for 25 years,their is always some question or other ,i can ask.And always get a proper answer,my latest has been on the lifespan of chains and cassettes.Which i have been very happy to take on board.
