I wouldn't worry about the mate being offended, chances are they just used the feature where it invites all of your email contacts, so I doubt they will notice your declining of their request

I get them in the spam mail, not sure why because I have never signed up to linkedin :smile: beware as some are probably phishing emails or the likes.

I'm on linkedin but I've forgotten the password, so I only ever login about once a month when I find I'm using a web browser that remembers it for me. I do (eventually) accept pretty much any connect requests that come my way, provided they're from real people not recruitment agents

Apologies to any recruitment agents reading this who believe themselves to be real people, but your industry has about as good a reputation as PPI mis-sellers

I've never signed up. I get requests from acquaintances but assume it's an automated email list.
A friend of my wife's got a job offer from someone she had in her 'friends' (or whatever they call it) so it must work for some folk.
