Well it wasn't quite the jamboree I was hoping for. More a case of lots of people on their old MTBs riding like lunatics. I was cut up at least twice by fellow cyclists and the motorised traffic was mental from Clapham to Waterloo.

At least I'm reasonably early so quite a parking spot.

Hopefully the RMT action will act as a catalyst and get more people cycling and walking - which can only be a good thing.

I'm off today but tomorrow should be an interesting commute, especially as I may have to cross a picket line (doubt it though)

The Mile End Road was grid lock, without the bus lane sections I'd still not have got in, all three channels to make any progress and loads of wobbly scooters and herberts on full sus mtbs with huge knobblies riding in a world of their own, no care at all, zig zagging through the traffic without ever worrying as to what might be coming towards them, it was a bit of a strain

grrrrrrrr, well i cant help it if i start at 11am. Was pooring down when i left, just setttled into the ride and slowly started going down by the petrol station on the left, not long pat the police station in brixton. so pushed from the church to waterloo cut, dropped bike off. Still, it was faster than the bus or taxi. From the crossroads by kennington police station, the traffic was solid from there all the way up to Smithfields market.

saw a funny women in office gear riding her fancey coloured fixie which made me chuckle

Not if the cyclists behave like they were this morning. It was chaos and madness with inexperienced cyclists riding dangerously. Frankly they can get back on the tube and leave me to cycle peacefully into work.

I was crossing Chelsea Bridge and a woman, whose mobile phone went off, slowed down while riding on the road, wobbled her bike dangerously, stuck her right leg out into the road to try and balance, then stopped suddenly to fish around in her pockets to find and answer her phone. On Chelsea Bridge. On the road. Madness. Nearly caused a 5 bike, three car, one bus pile up and received a huge amount of verbal abuse from all concerned.

I got taken out today but some ameature, undertook me as i was coming off a roundabout, he was obviously going faster than me and his rear wheel clipped my front and i hit the deck, least to say i wasn't impressed, and he promptly told me to **** off and cycled off. not much i could do due to my front brake being crushed which i then attempted to fix but couldn't so had to ride the rest of the 3 or so miles with no front brake!

You's lot obviously get up and leave too late  didn't seem that many extra cyclists today on the way in (leave at 6:30). I have to say that this morning the traffic around Waterloo was particularly heavy. Some numpty cut me up a treat and I found myself bang the rear wing with my hand in anger ;) It was an instant reaction at almost being squashed but the driver did seem apologetic as I passed by the driver's door (and so he should be).

Looking forward to the ride home already ;)

Everyone has to start somewhere. Give them more room, try to anticipate their actions, ride slower etc - or heaven forbid, chat to them, offer advice, show some support...
