I've been cycling to work too long....this morning I took one of two regular routes, to the bottom of London Road, then the right filter lane into the bus gate. Lights changed and I set off....and then thought..."hang on, I'm in the bloody car!"

Oops...

Cue a disappproving "paddington bear stare" from a cyclist waiting at the give way lines on the cycle path that crosses the bus gate

Hope it doesn't have a bus gate camera....luckily there's an "escape route" so I wasn't trapped in the complete bus route to the end

Could be worse...if I'd gone the other way I might have tried driving up through Sunny Bank woods

Back on the bike tomorrow......it's a long-winded rigmarole this driving lark, what with de-icing windows, helping to create long queues...could have been 1/2 way to work before I'd even driven to the end of the street

Isn't one of those 'bus gates' with the rising bollards is it? Now THAT would have been embarassing ;)

I must admit the other day I had to use the car to get to work (the first time in three years) and I started driving towards the station without thinking about it.

You are right ST, its great on a morning like this one, when you whiz down the road looking at all the car drivers scraping, and reving the engines trying to rush as they are late
