Tiling the bathroom floor.

Not because I want to, nor because I enjoy it, not even because I am particularly good at it.
I am doing it because the bloke who did a brilliant job putting in the shower stuff and tiling the walls...............................wanted £400 plus to do it.

It is around 4.5 square metres. He may be good .................but he ain't THAT good.

Oh. And Saturday lunchtime I am off clay pigeon shooting. (and doing a bit of archery)

Both will be a first for me so I am looking forward to it in excited anticipation.

Tiling? Sod that. Dirty, noisy, finicky frustrating job. I did 14 square metres of kitchen floor last year- dog of a job. Although 400 quid in your bin goes a long way.....

The last bathroom floor I tiled included leveling the existing floor, setting all the nails flush , laying and screwing down 12mm plywood, sealing all the wood, joints and edges, tiling the floor around all the pipes, bits of projecting wall, alcove, out of square corners and door threshold, grouting the floor and sealing the edges.
I think I wanted a little bit more then £400.

This weekend I will be doing something to the house or the tractor!

£400 to tile 4.5 sq metres...seems way excessive to me. From experience, a decent tiler will charge from £25/sq metre for labour, making your job about £112.50​
