Yep - round here the local gentry open up the estate to the great unwashed to raise a few quid and pretend they are egalitarian. It's Daffodil Sunday. But there is a problem. Guess what anyone?

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Mothers day as well?

Yes indeed - there are no daffs to be seen. Just the odd green leaf testing the atmosphere. I think the day was chosen to coincide with mother's day too. Maximise the "take" as it were. I've heard there is plan B but I don't know what it is.

I wonder how much ice cream will be sold ................

The Wurzles and a pig roast

Perhaps :birthday: I've googled but can't find out. Not that I'll be going anyway.

Bit on the local news this lunchtime about no Daffs - commercial growers haven't any yet either. Just a few coming out of Cornwall.

Technically, it's Mothering Sunday, not Mothers' Day.

Well two of my extended family's birthdays fall on the previous and this weekend - the daffs normally flower between the two... this year - all that can be seen is about 2 - 4 inches of green leaves.
