I have placed three orders with them

1. For a bike. Order went very well (love the bike BTW) right up until the ' once your bike is built we will be in touch about delivery'. They missed that bit and just shipped it. Luckily I have a neighbour who was happy to house a bike sized box till I got home from work.
2. For some small odds n' sods. Out of several items one wrong item was delivered. Emailed them twice to ask what they wanted to do but heard nothing so kept the item. It was worth three times what I should have received after all
3. For some on their own brand clothing. Order went well and I found their sizing, although confusing at first, accurate.

Overall they have good prices and get most things right. Customer service is a bit hit and miss.

Oh don't get me started on their totally stupid website, new order management system and their use of yodel despite their Web page saying they use royal mail.

I have a lovely RT58 which is an ace bike and I love but their obvious issues since up scaling their operations has shot them in the foot. They have issues with build schedules, missing parts, incomplete orders etc, etc. I ordered some bits and bobs two weeks ago, everything in stock and it still took 9 days to arrive using yodel who are the worst delivery company in the world. Rant over

I use them for lots of stuff. Some stuff has arrived today:smile:

Pros
They can be good
Good prices
Stock some hard to get bits
Phone staff usually sort issues out quickly

Cons
They can be not so good
Website can have discrepancies, wrong codes, stock etc.
Picking staff suffer from brain farts putting wrong stuff in your order
Delivery and time can be bit and miss. Sometimes yodel, sometimes RM
Some of the cheaper kit is, cheap
Paying via a different PayPal on your account starts another account. I've complained about this so it may have been fixed.

That's about where I am with them.

Spent c. £50 on stuff to take and leave for two bikes I have abroad. Bought my dad £50 worth of stuff to start cycling. IMO they couldn't be beaten for stuff like this.

The wheel situation as hinted by Hacienda was a bit hit and miss. I now have a replacement front and real wheel for their AL57 wheelset, both from different issues. Bearings on one and spokes on the ohter (non drive side rear wheel). It took several phone calls and some persuading to get them to change the wheels. Other companies may have changed them without quibble.

I think it's one of those companies you should keep on your toes about.

+1. I won't buy stuff from companies I know that will deliver all their goods from them. Had two awful experiences in the last 12-18 months.

PX website clearly states that orders under £100 will be sent royal mail signed for which is cool as my local post office is 5mins across town. When my order eventually went to complete it pops up as yodel so I call them to say no thanks and get no dice. Yodel then have the parcel Saturday until Monday before it gets to Bristol, I live in Bath and they can't deliver as no one home or neighbours in. That's untrue as I have an old lady one side who never goes out and students the other side who are always in. Opposite are two houses with people in every day as they work from home. Day two exactly the same despite me telling yodel to deliver to my neighbours. This time the card has the drivers mobile so call him and he said I will leave it behind the hedge if you want it's in plastic and I will forge the signature, I say yes please.

Now my big issue with PX is they use collect + for returns who are yodel but not deliveries. Collect + when I order from wiggle pick up 6pm and are at my corner shop by 3pm the following day so why can't PX use them? Rant number two over

EXACTLY the same issue as I had with one of my 2 nightmares with them. They told me the they tried todeliver when my wife was in. Not once but twice. Twats. I refused to pick up the parcel in the end.

But the stuff I did get was great and so bloody good value. Merino arm warmers for three quid, yes please. Plus some great tights and bits and bobs in the clearance sale. Got to keep an eye on them is what gets my back up though.

Agree about the prices. I bought 10 tubes a couple of months back at £1.99 each....fantastic price!
And they arrived in two days via DPD.

Never had a problem with them and like many have said, some great value items (I wouldn't buy their own brand rim tape though as it's quite thin and I kept getting punctures until I finally tracked it down to the tape)

See that's the problem they seem to ship with a mixture of couriers and you get no choice. I would happily pay a few quid extra when spending 50 pounds to choose. Wiggle give you that option but I do like their stuff and will still probably buy more and then probably get frustrated again. Hey ho it's only bits for me and the bike, not life and death ^_^

I love them.
I have my PX bike, there are a couple of pairs of their bib shorts in our home, a nice track jacket too (they were on offer I have a black one and then Hubster went and got a blue one). I didn't think that their 'large' saddle bags were up to much as my Aldi one was way better until it finally fell to bits.
There service has been fine but the emails get on my wick, from time to time but I have them all sent to one particular folder now and then muck it out every so often.

I have a PX MTB built up from a frame, PX just as bad as all the other mail order companies with missing deliveries (just had a frame from wiggle totally disappear from tracking on one courier and then appear delivered by another, and nobody could figure out what had happened. ) but... if you want cheap Taiwanese bits, they are as good as any, good luck!

Didn't have a problem when I purchased a bike from PX back in May either. You're right about the volume of emails though.

Just to echo what a lot of the others say. Does what it says on the tin and for me, delivery has been OK.

I dont think they are any worse/ better than the Wiggles etc however if you live locally can be much better.

Had no problems so far having bought a cross frameset off their ebay site and various items directly;only had to ring them a couple of times, once about getting the right headset for the frame and then a return call after a message about an out of stock item(which in the end came earlier than they originally said) so pretty pleased really and their prices are really good.
Actually have just ordered some clothing items(Roubaix tights, oversocks and shoes and Merino sock pack) today so hopefully should have them this week.
