if you have part of his numberplate call the police, he threatened you when you were with your child what a c**t.
Trouble is I couldn't see the plate as I was down the driveway and he stopped with the driver door opposite the entrance, and I had no intention of approaching a nutter who had threatened to get his baseball bat out! Knowing the layout of the nursery front garden and drive the car would have been obscured from any cctv, alas.
Good news is I have to be in the office early tomorrow so my wife will need to do the nursery run (on foot) while I get to take a different route to work. So I get to avoid baseball bat toting nutters and CS7 - result! ;-)
I'd still report it to safer Neighbourhoods so they can choose to ask a couple of PCSOs to patrol the area in the mornings. I'm sure it was an idle threat from a dickhead but it's not on. They may choose to do nothing but if you don't report it they'll never know.

Some public order offences there and serious anger management issues. I know it might of little consolation to you now, but this guy is probably all hot air. If you are still worried carry a D-lock that you can easily use if any situation did unfold. I know it is very unsettling but I encountered similar nutters in my time commuting. One nutter in an 8 wheeler truck tried to run me off the road in hte outback of the Fens which he succeeded and then stopped his truck got out his cab when I shouted at him as I thought I was gonna die. He grabbed my jersey around the neck and I managed to get hold of my Abus granit X-plus D-lock, the long one. I told him if he did hit and didn't let go before I counted to 3 then I would used it. Are you feeling lucky ........ He let go pretty sharpish. I would have used it had he not let go. But after he'd given me lots of abuse whilst driving off it didn't stop him waiting up the road Dual style to have another pop up at me as I passed him by despite me waiting 20 minutes hoping he was long gone before I continued cycling on. There was only one road unfortunately being in the outback fens.
You'll probably never see this dickhead again, but nevertheless it is better to be prepared.
Doing the weapons thing with a D-lock is almost certainly not going to improve the situation in any way. It's much more likely that that will lead either to escalation, or to conviction/prison, or both.
Talking out your backside as usual BM! If hadn't got hold of my D-lock and looked like I was prepared to use it I WOULD have taken a beating no question

What would you suggest I should have done "Excuse me old boy, but will you allow me to call the Old Bill, my mobile is in my bar bag, there's a good chap. Oh .... and can you hang around for 8 hours on the off chance that they might turn up. This would be so helpful. There's a good chap now."
Years ago in the mid '90s I was cycling down the bus lane toward Camberwell Green from the Oval when a private hire taxi came up behind blowing it's horn, close passed me forcing me into the kerb. I shouted a few expletives at him because I thought I was going down. He slanmmed on the car's brakes got out, came at me, fortunately I have my D-lock on the frame so had it in my hand pretty much immediately. I was alot fitter and stronger then. He took one look at me and got back in his car and drive off. I was so mad. Some times when the chips are down the best form of defence is attack. There is such a thing as self defence btw BM, you not heard of this? A D-lock against a baseball bat seems perfectly fair to me.
