Spot on, Joe.

I'm no doc, but from my experience pushing the recovery envelope a little is far better than underusing the damaged joint.

Good man--- what do those damn doctors know anyway, alot of the time thier advice is pointed towards them not getting sued. Carry on while it feels right, but dont do too much too soon:bicycle:

Just to update my post.
I didn't ride yesterday. I decided to have day off to recover.
No trouble with the ankle. All fine and dandy.
Went for a 20 mile ride today at an easy pace (average 10.1 mph) and all went well.
I'm keeping the ankle well strapped up for the rides for the time being.
Thank you all for your very kind comments and advice.
They were very much appreciated.
Take care all.

Bon courage !

Sounds like you are being very sensible. I hope you make a full recovery soon.

I am another who appreciated your post about fighting depression - will bring on the pretence when needed.. being out on the bike helps enormously.
