Got passed really considerately by a massive HGV on Green Lanes this morning. It's actually a reasonably wide road, but there are two pedestrian islands in the middle that make pinch points. This HGV could have overtaken me...it would have been a bit of a squeeze, though nothing like as bad as Mags's recent adventures...but instead he hung back for 100 metres or more, till it was safe to pass with a wide berth. All the more impressive as it's slightly uphill all along that stretch, so I was probably doing no more than mid-teens. Gave him a couple of 'thank you waves' - hope he noticed. Nice one mate!

That's a terrible road isn't it?

Granted I've avoided it like the plague for the last ten plus years

There's plenty of really considerate driving out there lately

also true, barring the ped I mowed down in cold blood, cackling maniacally, I have a few lately

I'll admit to being partly at fault in the last one though, I got rather fixated on the car that had pulled out in front of me to go left and totally missed the car turning in right, thankfully they were one the rare breed that checks for cyclists coming up the inside

The bit I go along isn't too bad - south from Manor House - very few parked cars, very few pedestrians, and most of it is wide enough that you don't get bullied.

There are 5 Green Lanes in London, the one in Harringey in just over 6 miles long so a little more detail of the location would help.

Thanks
