Now that was a commute!
At least 20cm of snow overnight (in addition to the almost a metre already lying on the ground) and still a blizzard going on. There was a powerful wind from the north-east (against me or from theside most of the way) and although the road had been cleared, the snow had blown back over, so I couldn't see where the road ended and the surrounding fields began. I cycled in mainly on memory and intuition... and then, something I've never seen in a snowstorm: lightning through the falling snow! And rolling thunder all around.
It was actually worse in town, the roads were uncyclable having been churned up by cars, and I had to put my bike on my shoulder and run in cyclocross style. and it's still snowing and blowing. I'm here though... not many other people are, the lighweights. Wonder how many students will turn up for the 8.30 class...
