Depends on the model - 4601 max 30T. I'm running an 11-30 with my old Tiagra mech no problems. Believe the 2014 mechs will have a (official) max of 32T - my 6800 Ultegra certainly does. Are the days of the triple numbered?

No triples will still be used cause they offer less jumps in gearing and better cruising options while using the middle ring upfront and a closer ration cassette at the rear. Who wants to make such huge jumps in gear ratios on the rear cassette
