Comrades, in the process of checking the spokes, I've noticed an ominous split in the rim itself - looks like I need a new wheel?

About same I discovered a couple months ago only the split was at the other side of the edge sidewall / inner wall. Similar story - nothing to hear when turning the wheel of the unloaded bike, only during riding and only after restoring desired pressure after a period gradual deflation. The load & pressure combined must have pushed the side abit outwards causing it to reach nearby bike parts alike brake pads. Took me months to discover since the crack had closed to invisible at inspection.
