I made some alterations to my Summer bike, different sized stem (& flipped it), narrower handlebars and I've stumbled across a riding position that I am absolutely delighted with - only slight draw back is the title thread mentioned regular tight glute/hammy on my right leg.

Would cleat position have any effect on this? (Also I bought new shoes - tried to mirror the placement fo the cleats from my old pair).

I've found some good exercises to alleviate the tightness, but every ride sets it off, so need a cure please!

How long have you given the stretching routine?

I wouldn't say I'm too religious with the stretching tbh - as & when required, use roller as well for thighs and hammy.

Doing it "as required" is not really the way forward, because "being required" suggests you wait until it hurts, start treating, it feels a bit better, you cease, then it hurts again......... it may not be something that you ought to have to do permanently, but you may have to exercises some consistency with it to get results.

Have to say I thought (hoped) a slight change in cleat position might be suggested, although I'd be loath to tinker as I know how it can pan out sometimes.

Last 10 or so have all been roughly 40's, biggest 55m. Fairly hectic at times (well for me anyway),
17.5mph -18mph averages mostly.
