What if it is possible in the future but only to travel forwards?
It already exists - it is called sleep or hibernation!

Isn't hibernation more like travelling back through time. You've "clocked off" & then emerged sometime later, expecting it to be like it was when you "clocked off".
At best its more like stopping time.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I don't think I would like to go back and see all the mistakes I have made in the past. I would rather go forward to see all the mistakes I am going to make in the future. Something to look forward to hmm. ?

I recently read a book called 'Replay' written by Ken Grimwood.
It's a kind of time travel book in that the main protagonist 'dies' and re-awakens back in his teenage body in college. All his memories are intact and so he gets to re-live his life over again. More than once.
Also 'Time's Arrow' Martin Amis is a take on time as if it were running backwards. It's kind of gruesome in places (imagine a car crash precisely in reverse) but an interesting take.

IIRC what Hawking said was that Time Travel might be possible but would need more energy than the known universe has ever produced to date. So, yea! You can't do it.

Richard III knew from his time travel experiences that geneticists at Leicester University had already developed the technique of DNA fingerprinting. This is why he chose Leicester as his final resting place and knew that if his body was ever discovered, he would also be identified as the Monarch of England.

In short, time travel exists.

It's a shame he didnt travel in time to Bosworth Field, then could have avoided all that stuff.
