Set another PB on a 10TT this evening despite heavy rain; first time under 25 minutes with 24:59. Quite a few bailed and others set slower times than normal so I'm pleased with that. I've dropped 2 minutes this year and beaten my PB on the last few TT's.

The hope, which seemed a 'no chance' after the first TT in March, was to go under 25. It's still the same old TT bike - a NeilPryde Bayamo - although with saddle more level and moved back, plus the same kit except I've gone backwards from a full aero TT helmet to an aero road one.

Haven't posted in a while... been a good season, getting older but slippier:

• 10m TT 21:12 - at the Scottish National 10 champs - well chuffed with this, mbe I can do a 19:59 before I die! This time is also the name of one of my favourite Rush Albums
• 50m TT 1:54:48 - at Cockermouth, bonked at the end and pretty much freewheeled the last few k which glady were slightly down hill
• 100m TT 3:56:22 - Up in Forfar, a voyage of discovery into the world of long distance TT, shipped my chain costing me a minute or so but very happy to do sub 4

Not beaten my 25m PB, only done one on a slower course so we shall see...

Scored a 6seconds course PB on Saturday on the N1/10 (24.40) (I'm still over 18secs faster over the course with the N1/15 flying start :-/

OT My recovery the day after took me to 24,000 miles on the road bike in just under 5 years.

Managed a 10mile PB by 19s (22.14)

The Tri Velo podcast said push harder when you are slowest so I attacked the small bumps on the course and it worked

I managed a course PB by 23s on the E2/10 up 19w on last week but down 33s on my all time pb. Todays E2 is supposed to be faster than last week F2, it has never been that way for me. The wind was quite light 6-7mph headwind out, tailwind back so I can only guess the heat made the air dense, 32deg C in the shade, a bit warmer on course. Lol, that's the deepest I've ever been and after I stopped it took quite a while before I could put the bike in the car and drive back to the HQ, and then at the HQ and stopped again it was quite a while before I felt good to drive home.

The biggest thrill to me I got to use my Ekoi freebie which I thought I'd never use ;-)

Just to digress slightly, don't them streamlined helmets tend to boil the brain, especially on hot days?
How can people bear to wear them?

Rode my first TT for a few years last night on the UC186b course near the Severn Bridge in South Gloucestershire.

Fairly good conditions with dry roads & light winds.

I'll hopefully get a night like that again and sneak under 24:30 for the club 10 (on the night I had a standing start, was wearing my old skin suit, forgot my overshoes and forgot to flip my visor) for now I'll have to settle with a PB of 24:33 on the club 10.

I quite like the new course which is actually 10miles (the old one went through a 20mph zone). This one feels safer to go hard and has a nice 7.9% in it.

A 1 min and 43 sec PB on the sporting NC13C with an OT of 35.40. Not the best start with a driver panicking in front of me for some reason and then waiting carefully for me to overtake although I wasn’t as I knew there was an couple of big hills coming up, so I didn’t settle into the zone until a minute into the TT. I should have gave more up the last head wind hill as I had 40+ secs to recover. A bit of an annoying finish too, came up behind mtb’ers 6 abreast across the finishing line playing about in mock celebrations. So hopefully there is a bit of room for another PB next year.

What a change in weather, tonight was 26deg and sun compared to last week which was 12deg and rain! It was a PB night on the cards for the club TT. I was a bit gutted when only a time keeper was present and whilst he offered to push off and time I decided not to take up the offer and went for a standing start and ended up taking a hop too. Not the best of start, I went deep though and got a 1 sec PB (Lol, mister consistency).

A bit of an Under Over session for me today, aka the Lamport (N3/10) TT. It wasn’t the best start from me. The pusher off had me feeling I was a little too much leaning right, so I ask him for a fraction left. I think he over compensated and I had too unclip. Hey ho, if I’d been at the turn roundabout 5sec earlier I would have had to wait those 5 secs. When I arrived it was just clearing so I only had to ease slightly. The net result the start didn’t really cost me

I could have done with getting more power out down the hill though

Coming back after the turn, uphill into the wind, suited me better. Overall net result I managed =3rd on Handicap (I think a 24s PB, 47s up on my Spindata predicted time); aka Not as slow as I’ve been in the past
