Hi folks.

I am torn, I love the look & weight of the Time pedals + the reviews I read say they are super quick to engage & have a massive contact area.

But, some also say the cleats are naff & that build quality is not 100% so..

do I go for Dura Ace (I can get them for £109 with voucher code at CRC) which are proven reliable units but weigh an extra 50 or 60 grammes.

Anyone have experience of either ?

1: A massive contact area means nothing when you have a decent pair of stiff shoes
2: 50g's. That weighs nothing in the scheme of things, certainly that a leisure cyclist would notice

60 grammes is nothing to worry about Dura Ace would be my choice, but I would never spend that much on pedals, I use Shimano MTB pedals on my road bikes double sided so very easy to use a bit heavier than the Dura Ace but serviceable they are superb for the price, and as the Dura Ace are top of the range I expect them to be superb.

Dura Ace have proven to be very hard wearing (apart from if you have an off) - so if I was spending £100 on either of the two I'd go for them.

I use Look Keo carbons which are just as good IMHO and cost a bit less.

Thanks for all the replies & advice.

I have decided to go for Dura Ace, although the voucher code has now expired so will wait until the next sale.

FWIW I currently have a set of Look Keo 2 Max (unused) that came with the best bike (in a deal) & a set of Time RXS, but low & behold RXS cleats don't work with Time Xpresso pedals & Look are completely different.

So I will get a set of Dura Ace for the best bike & Ultegra for the other, no messing with different cleats & shoes for each bike then, much easier.

Cheers again.
