I wouldnt mind cycling in london for a bit. I do hate london though so i wouldnt do it for long.

I like cycling in London actually, I've said this to a couple of people on rides, but I see it as a different riding 'style'. It can be enjoyed in a twisted sort of way, but isn't to be considered the same as 'road riding', for example.
Also, I have to say, on things like the FNRttC, and other rides involving London / near London and traffic, the ones who don't cycle in the capital very quickly stick out like a sore dérailleur, not sure why, something about the riding style, perhaps a lack of madness? confidence...

Have to agree with you Radius, I have'nt been on the Fnrttc but I do think that to ride safely in London you have to be quite bold in your style and make yourself seen by cycling down the middle of the road when nescessary and appropriate.
Part of the skill is having an extra sensory radar that tells you when it is required to be bold and when it is safer to get the hell out of the way.
I'm sure it is true for all cyclists everywhere but in London maybe more so.

Yeh, i do fine aswell. I could cycle in London easy. Im confident in traffic, sometimes probably too confident.
Unless you mean the cyclists in london are like the car drivers, and are aggressive and not relaxed enough, which they probably are. But that will largely be down to that being how most people that in London are.

as an hgv driver who goes to london/city regular ,its dog eat dog,theres good and bad from every type of transport...the other night (around 1800)i was at highbury corner in usual very slow traffic..i looked in my nearside mirror and there was a old chap on a bicycle holding on to the last strap on my trailer...well i took him from highbury corner to the archway..he never pedalled once.when he got to his destination he waved at me in mirror...i must point out he WAS wearing a yellow builders hard hat and i dont think i got over 15 mph..he had balls ...lmao

There's an indicator light on bendy buses, about half way down, makes a great hand hold for a bit of a pull. just got to make sure you do it on the outside and not up the inside!

Have always wanted to do that and have indeed had a bit of a pull away from the lights .

I remember years ago seeing a programme on telly about couriers getting a pull across the Golden gate bridge or somewhere like that looked great fun!
