There's an LP recording of him reading it that we were played at school in about 1965. Very good indeed.

Are poets really the best people to perform their own work. Playwrights always prefer actors and composers quite like it when musicians play their stuff.
Most poets reading "some of me poetry" do drone on.

Depends on the poet! People like Norman MacCaig and Edwin Morgan - once heard live in a pub, never forgotten.
